Recently we've noticed our beloved retailers getting more apt at providing styling options for their customers. We love love this initiative. The more styling tips the better! We need to see how we can fit a piece into our wardrobe and maximize the amount of looks and wears we can get out of it. With the cult-like following of street style blogs like jak and jil, and the success of user generated blogs like lookbook.nu as constant sources of inspiration for how to dress, it's no wonder that retailers are exploring strong styling options in an effort to sell their merch. Two of our fave online retailers constantly impressing us with their always on point styling, are Nasty Gal and Pixie Market. They always seem to be selling a look instead of just a singular item and we can't get enough. Online retailer Les Nouvelles is also exploring styling options with technology directly on their site. They have developed an option for shoppers to "be your own stylist" by selecting pieces that then appear "jeujed" up on a mannequin form. Other stores such as Blackbird and UPC boutique use their own blogs to offer style genius for items available in their stores. Similarly Charlie and Lee and Oki-ni have recently used short videos to give their merchandise a styled up cinematic vibe. Keep it up!! We're big fans.
